PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon Agaton Update (January 19, 2014)

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, January 19, 2014, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Tropical Depression "AGATON" has slowed down while maintaining its strength and was estimated based on all available data at 215 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or at 220 km East of Davao City with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and it is forecast to move Southwest at 5 kph.

Issued at 10:30 am. today, January 17, 2014, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Low Pressure Area southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "AGATON".

Issued at 1:00 pm. today, November 12, 2013, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 1:00 p.m., the location of Tropical Depression "ZORAIDA" was estimated based on all available data over Rosario, Agusan Del Sur or at 28 South of Hinatuan (8.3°N, 126.1°E).

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, November 11, 2013, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 p.m. today, the location of Tropical Depression "ZORAIDA" was located based on all available data at 634 km Southeast of Hinatuan (5.8°N, 131.5°E).

Forecast:

Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and and coming from the Northeast to North over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be with moderate to rough.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon YOLANDA Update (November 8, 2013)

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, November 8, 2013, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 pm today, the eye of Typhoon "YOLANDA" was located based on all available data including Mactan Doppler radar at 115 km west of Roxas City or over the water off the western coast of Antique (11.4°N, 121.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 40 kph.

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, January 4, 2013, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 p.m. today, the center of Tropical Storm ":AURING" was estimated based on all available data at 460 km southwest of Puerto Princesa City (8.6°N, 114.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move west at 20 kph. Intertropical convergence zone (ITZ) affecting Mindanao. Northeast monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.

Palawan will experience rains with gusty winds. Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms. Forecast:

Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light rains. The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. At 8:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 790 km East of Mindanao (6.0°N, 134.0°E). This weather disturbance is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains (2.5 - 10.0 mm/hr) and thunderstorms in Mindanao and the provinces of Samar and Leyte which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Residents in these areas are advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures. MIMAROPA and Western Visayas will experience rains with gusty winds. Due to the effect of "Hanging Habagat" or Southwest Monsoon that brought floods to access roads, schools, houses and other establishments in the past days classes will still be suspended in various schools and other educational institutions in Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Saturday, August 11, 2012.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Tropical Storm 'Sendong' (December 18, 2011)

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, December 18 2011, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 p.m., Tropical Storm "SENDONG" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 410 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City (10.3°N,114.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West at 24 kph. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon.

It is forecast to move West at 24 kph.
