PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon Agaton Update (January 19, 2014)

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, January 19, 2014, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Tropical Depression "AGATON" has slowed down while maintaining its strength and was estimated based on all available data at 215 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or at 220 km East of Davao City with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and it is forecast to move Southwest at 5 kph.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon Agaton Update (January 17, 2014)

Issued at 10:30 am. today, January 17, 2014, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Low Pressure Area southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "AGATON".

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Tropical Storm 'AURING' Update (January 3, 2013)

Issued at 5:00 pm. today, January 3, 2013, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 4:00 PM today, Tropical Storm "AURING" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 190 km Southeast of Puerto Princesa City (9.0°N, 120.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West at 28 kph. Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.

 

Forecast:

Palawan will experience rains with gusty winds. Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila, CAR, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Bicol region will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley and the province of Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light rains.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Tropical Depression "AURING" is now traversing Sulu Sea and moving towards Palawan. Location of Center: (as of 10:00 p.m.) 110 km South of Puerto Princesa City Coordinates: 8.7°N, 118.8°E Strength: Maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph Movement: West at 28 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Friday evening: 660 km Southwest of Puerto Princesa City or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)

Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #2 and #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under public storm warning signal #2 are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the eastern seaboards of the country and over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon due to the Northeast Monsoon and over the western seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao due to the Tropical Storm.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 AM tomorrow.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Tropical Depression "Ramon" (October 13, 2011)

At 5:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that  the Tropical Depression "Ramon" continues to move in a Northwest direction. It was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 270 km West of Metro Manila (14.3^°N, 118.3^°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move Northwest at 19 kph.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Tropical Depression "Ramon" (October 12, 2011)

At 5:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that  the Tropical Depression "Ramon" has maintained its strength and changed its direction to the Northwest as it approaches Mindoro Area. It was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 70 km Southwest of Romblon or 70 km East Southeast of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro (12.2^°N, 121.6^°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center . It is forecast to move Northwest at 15 kph.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Tropical Depression "Ramon" (October 11, 2011)

At 5:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that  the Tropical Depression "Ramon" has intensified into a storm as it continues to threaten Eastern Visayas and Northeastern Mindanao. It was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 180 km East Northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (8.9°N, 127.9°E ) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 17 kph.

At 4:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that  the Tropical Depression "Ramon" has maintained its strength as it continues to move in a Westward. It was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 560 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (7.5°N, 131.7°E).
