At 2:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Low Pressure Area (LPA), was estimated based on satellite and surface data was estimated at 520 km East Northeast of Southern Luzon (15.3° N 129.4° E). It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Meanwhile, Typhoon "QUIEL" has weakened as it moves farther away from the country.

PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon 'Quiel' (October 2, 2011)
At 4:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Typhoon "QUIEL" has weakened as it moves farther away from the country. Its center is located based on radar, satellite and surface data at 370 km West Northwest of Baguio City (16.9°N, 116.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is expected to be 610 km West Northwest of Baguio City on Monday morning, October 3, 2011.
PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon 'Quiel' (October 1, 2011)
At 11:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Typhoon "QUIEL" has made landfall over Dinapigue, Isabela. Its center is located based on radar, satellite and surface data at 150 km West of Baguio City (16.4°N, 119.0°E) with the maximum winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is forecast to move West at 26 kph and expected to be 690 km West Northwest of Baguio City on the evening of October 2, 2011.

At 4:00 pm today, PAG-ASA forecasts that Typhoon "QUIEL" was located based on satellite and surface data at 490 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.9°N 126.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is forecast to move West at 26 kph. Quiel is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon and Western Visayas.

At 4:00 PM Today, PAG-ASA forecasts that Tropical Storm "QUIEL" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 1,040 KM East of Aparri, Cagayan (18.1°N, 132.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 140 KPH. It is forecast to move West at 13 KPH.

Tropical Storm "QUIEL" is still too far to directly affect any part of the country. Estimated rainfall amount is from 15-25 mm per hour within the 300 km diameter of the tropical storm. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
Issued at 5:00 a.m., 29 September 2011 Strong to gale force wind is expected to affect the Western and Northern seaboards of Luzon.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. The next update will be issued at 5 a.m. tomorrow. PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon Pedring (September 28, 2011)
At 5:00 pm today, Typhoon "PEDRING" continues to move out from the Philippine Area of Resposibility (PAR) west northwest and still affecting Western Luzon. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm named "Quiel" (International Name: “NALGAE”) was estimated 1,330 km East of Northern Luzon (19.1�N, 136.6�E) and is expected to enter the PAR within the next 24 hours.
PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon Pedring (September 27, 2011)
Typhoon Pedring still turning round and round to Metro Manila and some areas in Luzon going out from Philippines' Area of Responsibility. According to PAGASA, Pedring has maintained its strength and continues moving in a west northwest direction. Storm warning signal number 1 is still up in the Metro Manila, including the provinces of Bataan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Viscaya, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Quirino and Bulacan and Signal number 2 to La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Benguet and Ilocos Sur as of 11 PM today.
