PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Low Pressure Area (LPA) (October 3, 2011)

At 2:00 p.m. today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that  the Low Pressure Area (LPA), was estimated based on satellite and surface data was estimated at 520 km East Northeast of Southern Luzon (15.3° N 129.4° E). It is  embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas  and Mindanao. Meanwhile, Typhoon "QUIEL" has weakened as it moves farther away from the country.

25°C to 31°C

Moderate to Strong Southwest-South Manila Bay: Moderate to Rough

Forecast:

The Western section of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas and   Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms . The rest of Luzon  will be partly cloudy to cloudy with with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest to South will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be  light to moderate blowing from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.
