International Workshop/Thinkshop on Values Formation (DepEd Advisory No. 2, s. 2012) )

The Department of Education (DepEd) releases on Thursday, January 5, 2012 the DepEd Advisory No. 2, s. 2012, re: International Workshop/Thinkshop on Values Formation. In compliance with DepED Order No. 39, s. 2009 this Advisory is issued for the information of DepEd officials and personnel.


The said DepEd Advisory is relative to the conduct of Philippine Professional Linkage from Various Disciplines, Inc. (PPLFVDI) the International Workshop/Thinkshop on Values Formation with the theme "Integration of Values in the Worldwide Education Curriculum to Produce God-fearing Citizens of the World" on April 29-30, 2012 in Iba, Zambales.

National Congress for the Out-Of-School Learners (DepEd Advisory No. 1, s. 2012)

The Department of Education (DepEd) published on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 the DepEd Advisory No. 1, s. 2012, re: National Congress for the Out-Of-School Learners.


In compliance with DepED Order No. 39, s. 2009 this Advisory is issued for the information of DepEd officials and personnel.

The Philippine Association of Non-formal Educators, Inc. (PANFEI), in collaboration with the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) will hold the National Congress for the Out-of-School Learners with the theme “Kung ALS Learner Ka, Naiiba Ka” on April 17-19, 2012 at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City.

The National Congress aims to:

a. highlight the common concerns of ALS learners and identify opportunities and prospects which address those concerns;
b. generate positive responses from the learners in terms of helping improve themselves, their families and the communities where they belong;
c. instill pride among the ALS learners as lifelong learners; and
d. promote connectivity between and among the ALS learners and the ALS community.
The participants are the following:

a. DepEd Personnel
• Bureau, Center and Regional Directors;
• Schools Division/City Superintendents;
• Bureau/Regional ALS Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, Education Supervisors II;
• Education Supervisors I in-charge of ALS;
• Public Schools District Supervisors;
• ALS Facilitators (Mobile Teachers, District ALS Coordinators) ; and
• BALS staff (committee members).

b. Non-DepEd Personnel
• ALS learners;
• ALS Gabay Aral Pamayanan (AGAP), Peer Educators, Instructional Managers, Literacy Facilitators, Service Providers; and
• (NGOs).

NCAE Postponed in Luzon - September 30, 2011 Next Schedule





The Department of Education announced on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the postponement of the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) from September 28 to September 30, 2011 as the next schedule.

The Deaprtment of Education (DepEd) releases an announcement on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 through DepEd Advisory No. 482, s. 2011 that the The National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB) College of Science, University of the Philippines (UP) in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture-Biotech Program will conduct the Third National Biotechnology Education Conference for Teachers with the theme “Current Trends in Biotechnology and Prospects for the Future”, on November 21-27, 2011 during the celebration of the 2011 National Biotechnology Week.

PHILIPPINE TREASURES

In compliance with DepED Order No. 39, s. 2009, this advisory is issued for the information of DepEd officials and personnel to advise students to watch the showing of GMA-7's 'Philippine Treasures', a special documentary about some of the country’s historical artifacts, most important relics from the Philippines' literally rich pre-colonial past and many others. The documentary is hosted by Ms. Mel Tiangco with reporting by Mariz Umali, Cesar Apolinario, Tina Panganiban-Perez, and John Consulta.
