GMA Network Launches New Station ID (2012 )

GMA Network, Inc. upgrades local television’s production values in its newest Station ID (SID) that premiered Monday night, August 6, 2012 on GMA-7 before the airing of Luna Blanca.

This new television station ID of GMA Network pays tribute to what the company considers as the country's new heroes — overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

GMA Vice President for News Programs Jessica Soho,  recently led a troop of news reporters at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to welcome OFWs.

The said SID also feature the Kapuso network’s brightest stars and news personalities shot in various scenic locations in and around the Metropolis.

During the shoot, multi-awarded film cinematographer and GMA VP for Post Production Edward Achacoso said that the Network invested multimillions to acquire state-of-the-art production and editing tools for the project.

He said that they had major add-ons in this year’s budget for the procurement of best-of-class high definition cameras and graphics machines. These tools are of the same standards as those used in Hollywood movies such as Transformers and Avengers.

Achacoso also said that this year’s SID has the biggest production pool, composed of 180 personnel. He hopes to top the current GMA SID in terms of production and editing values.

Achacoso’s team is the same team behind the New York Festivals award-winning LupangHinirang ID, which also airs in cinemas nationwide.

The SID featuring the Kapuso theme song “Kapuso, Anumang Kulay ng Buhay” that first aired in 2002, has an updated version this time. The new rendition of GMA’s theme song is a more dramatic duet by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Kapuso pop sensation Julie Anne San Jose (Regine sang the original version of the theme song).

Protege: The Battle For The Big Artista Break Update: Top 20 Revealed!

Protege: The Battle For The Big Artista Break, the second season of Protégé: The Battle For The Big Break where Krizza Neri won had just opened its door of stardom for the new protege hopefuls  in GMA-7's Sunday Grande on August 5, 2012.

After several months of its intensive nationwide hunt, Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break had finally unveiled the coveted Top 20 aspirants who will go head-to-head in the weekly elimination nights and outdo each other in hopes of winning over the judges’ and the viewers’ votes.

There were 10 male proteges and 10 female proteges has been introduced on the first gala night. Four proteges  emerged from Metro Manila with mentor Roderick Paulate, four from Mindanao with mentor Phillip Salvador, four from Visayas with mentor Jolina Magdangal, four from Northern and Central Luzon with mentor Ricky Davao and four from Southern Luzon with mentor Gina Alajar.

Unlike the previous season, Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break has been set its age from 13 to 21 years old and with a brand new goal and objective which is to find the next generation of hottest batch of actors that will be idolized by the whole nation. The show premiered last July 23, 2012 (Inside Protégé) and was hosted by Jennylyn Mercado and under the direction of Albert Langitan, while the Protégé 1st Gala Night happened on August 5, 2012 and has been presented by Dingdong Dantes, Carla Abellana (Journey host) and Maxene Magalona (Jock Itch). The gala night is under the direction of Rommel Gacho.

Jennylyn Mercado, the Inside Protégé host is set to resume her hosting chores. Dingdong Dantes is reprising his role as the gala presenter while Carla Abellana replaces Ogie Alcasid as the journey host. Maxene Magalona is also part of the show as the host for the show's 'webisode'.

Bert de Leon and Joey de Leon return to the judging panel while guest judge during the 1st season, Cherie Gil will join the judging panel as a permanent judge for the second season with GMA Films president, Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar.

Eat Bulaga Indonesia Starts to Hit Indonesian Television on Monday - First Ever Franchise of Eat Bulaga

Eat Bulaga, the longest running and undefeated noontime variety show in Philippines regularly shown Monday to Saturday via GMA-7 had come so far as it starts to make wave on the nationwide television in Indonesia starting Monday, July 16, 2012!

Yes, you read it right! Eat Bulaga goes to Indonesia. It's not because the original show will be aired live in the said country but because SCTV Network Indonesia, a local TV Channel in Indonesia got a franchised of 'Eat Bulaga' from the T.AP.E.D. Inc. and is locally entitled 'Eat Bulaga Indonesia'.

As seen in the poster above, Eat Bulaga Indonesia is  a 100% OK, SERU (Exclaimed/Shout), LUCU (Funny/Entertaining) and LIVE! It will be aired LIVE SETIAP HARI (everyday), MULAI (start) July 16, 2012, PUKUL 16:00-17:30 WIB (1:00-2:30 o'clock PM).

Disebutkan, Eat Bulaga berasal dari kata It Bulaga yang artinya Cilukba. Di dalam variety show tersebut terdapat beragam konten mulai dari talent search sampai game show. Bahkan dapat diikuti semua umur.

Beberapa konten Eat Bulaga Indonesia antara lain Bolagaan, Jagoan Karaoke, Indonesia Jenius dan Satu Untuk Semua, Semua Untuk Satu. "Jadi intinya kita gak adaptasi 100 persen dari Philipina. Tetapi kita sesuai dengan keadaan di sini dan bernilai positif seperti kampanye lingkungan hidup atau berbagi dengan sesama," lanjut Harsiwi.

Mengenai waktu penayangan berdekatan dengan bulan Ramadhan, dia mengatakan hal tersebut sengaja dilakukan guna menggugah masyarakat peduli dengan orang lain. "Nah itu nilai positif yang kami sodorkan supaya masyarakat dapat berbagi," imbuhnya. (kpl/dis/dew)

'Princess and I' - Offcial Trailer and Poster Released

The full trailer of ABS-CBN's upcoming drama, 'Princess and I', premiered on Monday night, April 2, 2012 during a commercial gap of Walang Hanggan.

Airing April 16, 2012 on the Kapamilya network's primetime block, the series boasts of a powerhouse cast that includes today's hottest teens stars in Philippine television – Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil and Khalil Ramos.

The story is all about Mikai (Kathryn), a long-lost princess of Bhutan who grew up in Manila. She finds love in three men, Jao (Enrique), Kiko (Khalil) and Gino (Daniel). It will be her journey of finding her true identity and the true love of her life.

Considered s one of the expensive project of ABS-CBN this 2012, 'Princess and I' is directed by Dado Lumibao. The romance-drama cast also include Albert Martinez as King Anand, Gretchen Baretto as Ashi Behati, Precious Lara Quigaman as Queen Isabel, Dominic Ochoa as Dinoy and many others.
