PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Low Pressure Area (LPA) (November 16, 2011)

Issued at 10:30 a.m. today, November 16, 2011, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that at 2:00 am today, the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 240 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City (11.6°N, 117.2°E).

Valid Beginning: 5:00 a.m. today until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow
The whole country will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Central and Northern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the East will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the East to Southeast over the rest of Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the East to Northeast will prevail over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.

At 8 am today, The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 440 km West of Coron, Palawan (13.4°N 116.0°E).While wind convergence affecting Northern Luzon.

Wind convergence will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms over Northern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Residents in these areas are advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures.

The next advisory will be issued tomorrow at 11 am.
