Proclamation No. 488, October 26, 2012 as a Regular Holiday Throughout the Country

On Monday, October 9, 2012, President Noynoy Aquino signed the Proclamation No. 488 declaring Friday, October 26, 2012, as a Regular Holiday throughout the country, in observance of Eidul Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).


Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda announced that President Aquino declared October 26 as a regular holiday through Proclamation No. 488, duly signed by the Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa.

The proclamation made through the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) that the observance of Eidul Adha be on 26 October 2012 and the Eidul Adha prayer be performed on the final declaration of the Saudi Government. 

Eidul Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims across the globe to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Isma'il as an act of obedience to God.

Proclamation No. 276 s. 2011, November 7, 2011 as a Regular Holiday - Palace Declares

On Thursday, October 20, 2011 President Benigno Aquino, III signed the Proclamation No. 276 s. 2011 declaring Monday, November 7, 2011, as a Regular Holiday throughout the country in observance of the Eidul Adha or Feast of Sacrifice, one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.




Proclamation No. 265, October 31, 2011 as a Special Non-Working Day Throughout the Country

On Monday, October 10, 2011, President Noynoy Aquino signed the Proclamation No. 265 declaring Monday, October 31, 2011, as a Special Non-Working Day Throughout the Country.

Proclamation 154, June 20, 2011 as a Special Non-Working Holiday

President Noynoy Aquino has signed Proclamation 154 last April 26, 2011 declaring that June 20, 2011, Monday, as a Special Non-working Holiday. This is in celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Philippine National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
