New York Festivals 2012 Winners Revealed - GMA-7 Got 3 Awards, ABS-CBN Got 1

Philippines got a total of 4 trophies at the 55th New York Festivals International TV & Films Awards, 3 of which are courtesy of GMA-7 while the other 1 was bagged by ABS-CBN.

The Kapuso network bagged 3 Silver World Medals for I-Witness: Lapnos (Burn) & Yaman Sa Basura (Child Urban Miners) in the Social Issues/Current Events Category and Front Row: Bente Dos (Twenty-Two) in the Biography/Profiles Category.

Aside from the 3 world medals, GMA-7 also received 9 finalist certificate for Reel Time: Tira (Infected), Reel Time: Lusong (Live to Dive) & I-Witness: Gintong Putik in the Social Issues/Current Events Category, Born to be Wild: The Born Expeditions Finale The Monster in the Nature & Wildlife Category,  Report Card in the Community Portraits Category and Pluma: Si Rizal, Ang Dakilang Manunulat (Rizal, The Great Writer) in the History & Society Category.

With a total of nine finalists, three of which winning medals, GMA Network is the country’s biggest winner at this year’s New York Festivals.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's Krusada : Laya ( Freedom ) won Bronze World Medal in the Social Issues/Current Events Category.

Rounding up the winners from the Kapamilya network’s news and current affairs division are EDSA25: Sulyap sa Kasaysayan (A Glimpse of History) in the History & Society Category, Storyline in the Biography/Profiles Category and Rated K / Kwento ng Buhay Ko (This is my Life) in the Magazine Format Category which both received finalist certificates.

On the other hand, TV5 also got 2 finalist certificates for Wanted - Child Special in the Community Service Programs Category and News 5 Debates - A Challenge For Change in the Politics Category.
