The Gandingan 2012: The 6th UPLB Isko't Iska's Broadcast Choice Awards was held on Saturday night, January 28, 2012 at the D.L. Umali Auditorium, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and just like last year, ABS-CBN once again dominated in the award's night.
Several GMA-7 and ABS-CBN shows were recognized based on the survey of 1,000 students of UPLB.
Gandingan is an annual event dedicated to honor programs and personalities who devote time to tackle development oriented issues in the mainstream media.

The Gandingan Awards was founded on the role of gandingan in the
lives of the Maguindanao. Dubbed as the talking gong, gandingan is a set
of gongs used by the Maguindanao to indirectly communicate with one
another.
The Gandingan Awards was organized by the UPLB Community
Broadcasters' Society in coordination with the Office of the Initiatives
for Culture and the Arts (OICA), the College of Development
Communication (CDC), and the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Last year, I-Witness and it's host Howi Severino and DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 were elevated to the awards' Hall of
Fame, having won in their respective categories for five years.
