Krizza Neri is Protege: The Battle for the Big Break's Big Winner

This is it! Protege Nation! Krizza Neri and mentor Aiza Seguerra becomes this season's Protege: The Battle for the Big Break winner. The star-studded singing competition on TV, the reality-based singing talent show created by GMA Network end up its 1st season tonight, December 18, 2011 at the SM Mall of Asia.

In Protégé: The Battle For The Big Break, 10 legendary music icons groom their own bets to be music's biggest phenomenon. As the competition open its doors to a wide array of talent, performances are bound to be spectacular and exciting. But this is not only a battle for the aspirants.

With revered and lauded mentors who have established their names in the music industry also vying for the same prize, drama and tension will sure arise. Their reputation and credibility at stake, their mentoring techniques will also be scrutinized.

Hosted by Ogie Alcasid, as the journey host, Dingdong Dantes as gala presenter, and Jennylyn Mercado, have its 1st ever Protege tonight.

Officially, Krizza Neri who was the chosen one from the potential protégés of "the Acoustic Sensation", Aiza Seguerra won at the1st season of Protege: The Battle for the Big Break with One Million Cash, 2 Bedrooms Condo Unit and an exclusive contract with GMA Artist Center. Meanwhile, the two special awards given during the Final Battle, The Texter's Choice Award (with P50,000.00 cash) and the Skyflakes Biggest Break Award (with P100,000.00 cash) were all bagged by Lovely Embuscado, the one who used to sing in front of her pet pigs and was eliminated on November 20, 2011 but was able to comeback due to the wildcard round.


The final 3 Proteges who battled for 3 rounds (Round 1: Duet with Mentor, Round 2: My Greatest Performance and Round 3: Final Triple Showdown) were Jaya's Protege - Lovely Embuscado ("The Singing Cinderella"), Aiza Seguerra's Protege - Krizza Neri ("RnB Sistah") and Jano Gibbs' Protege - Lirah Bermudez ("Pop Sweetheart").
