Issued at 5:00 pm. today, January 19, 2014, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Tropical Depression "AGATON" has slowed down while maintaining its strength and
was estimated based on all available data at 215 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur
or at 220 km East of Davao City
with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and it is forecast to move
Southwest at 5 kph.
Forecast:
Davao region and the provinces of Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur
will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. Northern
Mindanao and the rest of CARAGA will experience cloudy skies with
moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger
flashfloods and landslides. The rest of mindanao will have cloudy skies
with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Visayas, the
regions of Cagayan valley and Bicol and the provinces of Aurora and
Quezon will be cloudy with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of
Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with light rains.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the Northeast to Northwest over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
