Issued at 10:30 am. today, January 17, 2014, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) forecasts that the Low Pressure Area southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "AGATON".
Forecast:
Eastern Visayas and Caraga Region will experience cloudy skies with
moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may
trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of Visayas, Northern
Mindanao, Davao Region and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies
with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Bicol Region,
Cagayan Valley and the Province of Aurora will be cloudy with light
rains. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to
cloudy with isolated light rains. The rest of the country will be
partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to northwest over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
