PAG-ASA Public Weather Forecast - Typhoon Pedring (September 28, 2011)

At 5:00 pm today, Typhoon "PEDRING" continues to move out from the Philippine Area of Resposibility (PAR) west northwest and still affecting Western Luzon. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm named "Quiel" (International Name: “NALGAE”) was estimated 1,330 km East of Northern Luzon (19.1�N, 136.6�E) and is expected to enter the PAR within the next 24 hours.

Synopsis:

Southwest monsoon affecting the Western Luzon. 

Forecast:

The Western Luzon will experience monsoon rains while the rest of Luzon and the Western Visayas will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the western section of Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate blowing from the Southwest with moderate seas.

Typhoon "PEDRING" continues to move west northwest and still affecting Western Luzon.

Coordinates:17.5°N, 115.3°E
Strength:Maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center
Gustiness of up to 160 kph
Movement:Forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph 
Forecast Positions/Outlook:Thursday afternoon:690 km West Northwest of Baguio City 

No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised

Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered.

Typhoon Pedring will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over the rest of Western Luzon.

With this development, this is the final bulletin on this weather disturbance.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm (NALGAE) was estimated 1,330 km East of Northern Luzon (19.1�N, 136.6�E) and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Resposibility (PAR) within the next 24 hours.

Strong to gale force wind is expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.


Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
