Miss World Philippines 2011 is Gwendolyn Ruais (Muntinlupa City) and the List of Winners

The Miss World Philippines 2011 is Miss Gwendolyn Ruais of Muntinlupa City. The first-ever Miss World Philippines 2011 which offers the biggest prizes in the history of beauty pageants in the Philippines was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) at the CCP complex in Pasay City. The pageant was hosted by GMA-7 artists Dingdong Dantes, Carla Abellana, and Isabelle Daza with special perfomances from Aljur Abrenica and Mark Bautista who sang the Miss World Philippines theme song.

It's official, Miss Cory Quirino announced Gwendolyn Ruais of Muntinlupa City as the first ever Miss World Philippines 2011 crowned by the reigning Miss World Miss Alexandra Mill. Ruais beat out other 24 candidates from different parts of the country. Gwendolyn was also awarded as the Best in Swimsuit (see link) and at the same time the Miss Health Body winner. The pageant aired live on GMA-7.

Notwithstanding, Miss Helen Nicolette Henson of San Fernando, Pampanga was named 1st Princess, Martha Chloe McCulley of Parañaque City was the 2nd Princess, Ma. Paula Bianca Paz of Nueva Ecija as the 3rd Princess and Jaysel Arrozal of Valenzuela City was declared 4th Princess.

From the Top 12 (see (link) including Miss Loucelle De Jesus of Angeles City, Pampanga, who only made the first cut because of winning the Text Vote, finalist were narrowed to Top 5  (see link) and and they were Helen Nicolette Henson of San Fernando, Pampanga, Martha Chloe McCulley of Parañaque City, Jaysel Arrozal of Valenzuela City, Ma. Paula Bianca Paz of Nueva Ecija and Gwendolyn Ruais of Muntinlupa City were selected.

Miss Gwendolyn Ruais as the grand winner will receive PhP 1 million cash tax-free, a brand new SMDC condominium unit and GMA management contract. She will also be the representative of the country for Miss World 2011 in London, England on November 2011. The Top 5 will also be given a full 4-year college scholarships worth P440,000 from the AMA Computer University.

Smart Communications will also donate 20 personal computers inclusive of a one-year free internet usage to the choice underprivileged school of the candidate who has the “most extraordinary” story.
