3rd National Biotechnology Education Conference For Teachers 2011 - Theme and Schedule (DepEd Advisory No. 482, s. 2011)

The Deaprtment of Education (DepEd) releases an announcement on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 through DepEd Advisory No. 482, s. 2011 that the The National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB) College of Science, University of the Philippines (UP) in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture-Biotech Program will conduct the Third National Biotechnology Education Conference for Teachers with the theme “Current Trends in Biotechnology and Prospects for the Future”, on November 21-27, 2011 during the celebration of the 2011 National Biotechnology Week.



The activity aims to provide a venue for teachers of high school and college on Biotechnology and related subjects to interact and learn from one another.

This is also an opportunity for the members of the FIL TRIBE (Filipino Teachers Recognizing the Importance of Biotechnology) in order to re continue their commitment to promote popular awareness of science-based information about biotechnology all over the country.

For this year, this conference will feature activities to provide Biotechnology updates. The teacher-participants will also be the audience and evaluators of one act play presentations of the finalists by selected high school students who will compete for the Best One-Act Play with Biotechnology.

The teachers in Biology, Biotechnology and related courses are invited to participate in this activity.
