The Outstanding Filipino (TOFIL) Award is a project of Junior Chamber  International (JCI) Senate Philippines and the Insular Life Assurance  Co., Limited.
This year's nomination has been launched already last March 2, 2011 and the deadline  for the submission of nominations will be on August 31, 2011. Awards night will be on December 8, 2011
You can nominate your 2011 Outsanding Filipino (TOFIL) online in just a few clicks away by following these simple steps:
Simply visit  www.tofil.ph and click on the ‘Nominate” button. On the  Nominate page, choose “Use the 2011 TOFIL Nomination Site”. At the TOFIL  nomination site (http://www.tofil.ph/nominate.php) sign-up for free to create your  account. After completing the sign-up procedure, you can now start  nominating your 2011 TOFIL awardee.
The Outstanding Filipino, also known as TOFIL award is a joint project  of the JCI Senate Philippines, and Insular Life.  The awards program  recognizes exemplary Filipinos, 41 years and above, who have excelled in  their fields of endeavor and have contributed significantly to the  upliftment of lives.   In 2010, the six individuals who merited the  TOFIL award were:   Dr. Esperanza I. Cabral for Government Service; Dr.  Ray L. Catague for Public Health; Dr. Isagani R. Cruz for Literature;  Ms. Shirley Halili-Cruz for Arts and Culture; Dr. Anthony C. Leachon for  Medicine; and Fr. Joel E. Tabora, S.J. for Education. JCI Senate and  Insular Life have conferred the TOFIL award to 110 Filipinos since the  project’s start in 1988.
The online Nomination is a fresh step for the awards program. It intends  to ease nominations and submission of entries, and increase awareness  of the awards program especially among the online community of  Filipinos.
