Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2011
The Department of Education (DepEd) last year's theme for Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa had focused on the promotion of the national language and environmental protection.
Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa is celebrated during the month of August per the provision of Presidential Decree 1041, series of 1997, as declared by former President Fidel Ramos.

This year's theme is..."Ang Filipino ay Wikang Panlahat, Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas" focuses on the following purposes:
a. to carry out the duties as prescribed by KWF in Section XIV, Letter L of the Republic Act No. 7104;
b. fully implement the Proclamation No. 1041 of the President of the Philippines;
c. demonstrate to the people the importance of visualizing the national language and its history on the 75th anniversary of the KWF;
d. motivate the Filipinos to participate in the essay writing contest in Filipino language.
e. re-assess and measure in performing the implementation of Executive Order No. 335, and
f. hold the language conference with the purpose of updating the knowledge and language issues.
The month-long celebration is divided into five weekly topics and are as follows:
