Protege: The Battle For The Big Artista Break Update: Top 20 Revealed!

Protege: The Battle For The Big Artista Break, the second season of Protégé: The Battle For The Big Break where Krizza Neri won had just opened its door of stardom for the new protege hopefuls  in GMA-7's Sunday Grande on August 5, 2012.


After several months of its intensive nationwide hunt, Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break had finally unveiled the coveted Top 20 aspirants who will go head-to-head in the weekly elimination nights and outdo each other in hopes of winning over the judges’ and the viewers’ votes.

There were 10 male proteges and 10 female proteges has been introduced on the first gala night. Four proteges  emerged from Metro Manila with mentor Roderick Paulate, four from Mindanao with mentor Phillip Salvador, four from Visayas with mentor Jolina Magdangal, four from Northern and Central Luzon with mentor Ricky Davao and four from Southern Luzon with mentor Gina Alajar.

Unlike the previous season, Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break has been set its age from 13 to 21 years old and with a brand new goal and objective which is to find the next generation of hottest batch of actors that will be idolized by the whole nation. The show premiered last July 23, 2012 (Inside Protégé) and was hosted by Jennylyn Mercado and under the direction of Albert Langitan, while the Protégé 1st Gala Night happened on August 5, 2012 and has been presented by Dingdong Dantes, Carla Abellana (Journey host) and Maxene Magalona (Jock Itch). The gala night is under the direction of Rommel Gacho.

Jennylyn Mercado, the Inside Protégé host is set to resume her hosting chores. Dingdong Dantes is reprising his role as the gala presenter while Carla Abellana replaces Ogie Alcasid as the journey host. Maxene Magalona is also part of the show as the host for the show's 'webisode'.


Bert de Leon and Joey de Leon return to the judging panel while guest judge during the 1st season, Cherie Gil will join the judging panel as a permanent judge for the second season with GMA Films president, Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar.
