The awardees of the 2012 People of the Year Awards were announced during the presentation ceremony conducted by the PeopleAsia. It was held on Thursday night, January 19, 2012 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.
Certainly, PeopleAsia “People of the Year” awards
have become much sought after and they have given recognition to
presidents, tycoons, famous celebrities and other accomplished
individuals who have made a difference in the lives of Filipinos in one
way or another.
Among this year's awardees was eight-division boxing champ and Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao who was hailed as "Man of the Decade." The special award for Manny Pacquiao is memorable
because he represents the ordinary Filipino who has worked hard and
succeeded despite overwhelming odds. Manny has always believed that
whatever blessings he may be enjoying are the result of his unwavering
faith in God — and this faith makes him different from all other
champions.
