Kyle Imao is Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition Grand Winner

Junior Masterchef Pinoy Edition, ABS-CBN’s kiddie cooking show was ended Saturday, January 18, 2012 and 12-year-old Kyle Imao from Marikina City has been declared as the competition's Grand Winner.


Kyle got the highest final score of 91.8 during the live cook-off finale held earlier tonight, February 18, 2012.

It was hosted by Ms. Judy Ann Santos, who was also one of the judges.

Kyle's score was only 0.7 higher than 2nd Placer, Cebu's Philip Amarillo who got 91.1.

Average points garnered by the finalists from the judges were as follows:
  • Kyle Adrian “Kyle” Imao, 12 years old, Marikina - 22.7 pts.
  • Philip Dave “Philip” Amarillo, 13 years old, Cebu - 20.7 pts.
  • Mika Kristina “Mika” Tanaka, 11 years old, Quezon City - 19.0 pts.
  • Antonio Carlos “Jobim” Jalbuena, 13 years old, Makati - 16.7 pts.
In the second challenge, the finalists were given a ‘limited time’ of 30 minutes only to cook their ‘dream dishes’.

The scores obtained by the finalists from guests were:
  • Kyle - 22.1 pts.
  • Philip - 21.9 pts.
  • Mika - 23.0 pts.
  • Jobim - 19.7 pts.
After sampling and criticizing the kiddie cooks’ dishes, celebrity host Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and judges Chef Ferns, Chef Lau, and Chef Jayps named the First Pinoy Junior Masterchef.

The final scores were:
  • 1st Junior MasterChef - Kyle: 91.8 pts.
  • 2nd Place - Philip: 91.1 pts.
  • 3rd Place - Mika: 84 pts.
  • 4th Place - Jobim: 73.4 pts.
As Junior MasterChef Grand Winner, Kyle Imao received a culinary scholarship worth P1.5-million from Treston International College and a cash prize of P1-million as well as a Samsung Galaxy Tab, while Philip, as the runner-up, also took home P1.5M worth of culinary scholarship from Treston International College and P500-thousand cash.

3rd placer was Mika Tanaka, 11, with the final score of 84.0 while Jobim Jalbuena, 13, was the 4th Placer with 73.4.

Mika and Jobim each received P500k-worth of culinary scholarship also from Treston International College and P250k cash prize.

The show’s grand finale dubbed “The Live Cook-Off” was held at the Treston International College at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and aired live on ABS-CBN on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
