Pacquiao - Marquez III Fight Update - Manny Pacquiao Won

Pacquiao proved again that he is the world’s greatest fighter after he beats Juan Manuel Marquez securing his WBO welterweight title and earned another bragging rights for his boxing career.


The two fighters survived 12 rounds of boxing, a very close fight, which was witnessed by more than 16,000 in attendance and millions watching from around the world.
     

    In the 12th Round, the most exciting round of the fight, Pacquiao lands two lefts, the first punches of consequence in the round. Marquez starting to back up a bit as Manny moved in. Four punch combo from Marquez, beautiful, none landed cleanly. Marquez's hands looking markedly slower than three rounds ago, the reality of being 38 sinking in. One minute left in this brilliant trilogy that's spanned 36 rounds and seven years. Referee Tony Weeks stops the action as Pacquiao's mouthguard falls out. Crowd jeers. Huge chants for Marquez, who throws four punches but can't do damage. Pacquiao moving forward with a big combo to end the fight. The final bell! And Marquez raises a fist to the fans. Climbs the turnbuckle and is carried around the ring. Pacquiao moves confidently back to his corner.

    Michael Buffer announces the judges' scorecards: 114-114 first. Then 115-113 and 116-112 to the winner . And still the WBO welterweight champion is Manny Pacquiao, the recognized Pound-for-Pound Best Champion of the World. 

    According to CompuBox, Pacquiao landed 176 of 578 punches while Marquez connected on 138 of 436 punches. In jabs, Pacquiao connected on 59 of 304 while Marquez connected on 38 of 182 jabs. Meanwhile, in power punches, Pacquiao connected on 117 of 274 while Marquez connected on 100 of 254 power punches. Though the result receives controversy, it's obviously shown that Pacquiao really deserved to win.

    For the record, with the win, Pacquiao improved his boxing record to 54 Wins, 3 Losses and 2 Draws, with 38 Wins by Knockouts in 59 fights, while Marquez slid down to 53 Wins, 6 Losses and 1 Draws, with 39 wins by KOs in 60 fights.
